Peter Malin was born and raised in Staffordshire, England. Attending a Marist grammar school, he trained in dentistry at Bristol, qualifying in the early Seventies.
He returned to practice in his home town before moving to Canterbury. In 1990 he emigrated to Melbourne Australia with his wife and six children, settling in Lilydale where he practised for thirty years.
He still works because of his love for dentistry and his loyal patients and has fulfilled a dream of writing a novel that encompasses his great passions and principles.
Years ago I wrote a film script, left to gather dust until my wife suggested that it should become a novel. It has been a great source of reflection and memories for happenings in my life, especially my career and family life.
My father left Poland in 1939 never to return and my mother was taken from Ukraine to work as a farm labourer in Germany. They met in England. My childhood was tough in many ways but always loving and this imbued me with the values and principles I have today.
My love of Scotland came from my father who loved the Scots and scotch in almost equal measures. The love of all sports, comedy reading and music from my schooling and the Swinging Sixties. Food and it's delight came after I had left home . Cooking was not a strength of my dear mother.
My greatest inspiration has been my wife and my children and grandchildren. I have learnt more from them than they ever did from me especially about a rapidly changing world and my worth to it.
